Plant Decommissioning

In the near future, at least 150 coal and other fossil power plants are expected to be decommissioned for a variety of reasons. Plant managers, project managers, and decommissioning managers will have to determine the most economically beneficial course of action—repowering, redeveloping, or completely demolishing the facility.

The decommissioning of a power plant is a time-consuming, expensive process. Once a decommissioning strategy has been set, managing the decommissioning process can be as complex as building the fossil plant in the first place.

What is needed is proper planning and preparation. ScottMadden will work with you to help develop the schedule, plans, and templates to create a model for decommissioning.
