Chris Vlahoplus, partner and clean tech & sustainability practice lead at ScottMadden, recently joined the Southeastern Wind Coalition’s (SEWC) Board of Directors. ScottMadden is a member of SEWC, whose mission is to advance the wind industry in ways that result in net economic benefits to industry, utilities, ratepayers, and citizens of the Southeast.
Wind generation opportunities in the Southeast include land-based wind, low-cost wind import, and offshore wind. In addition, there are more than 100 manufacturing facilities in the Southeast that provide components to the wind industry.
As a board member, Mr. Vlahoplus will serve on the Utility Engagement Committee. His tasks will include helping to plan Utility Advisory Group (UAG) meetings, acting as liaison for utility-related questions, and recruiting additional utility participation in UAG meetings. “I look forward to working collaboratively with utilities to evaluate how wind energy may benefit the Southeast,” said Mr. Vlahoplus.
