October 7, 2014

Lessons Learned from Germany

ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading energy consulting firms, is proud to sponsor and present at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Strategic Issues Roundtable being held October 8–10, 2014, at the Portland Regency Hotel in Portland, Maine. This event, designed to encourage discussion on the key issues facing the electric power industry, will feature a ScottMadden-sponsored luncheon, insightful presentations, and invaluable roundtable discussions with leading industry players.

John Pang, partner at ScottMadden, and John Sterling, director of utility programs and planning at SEPA, will present, “Lessons Learned from Germany,” based on the mid-September fact-finding mission trip. This session will provide an opportunity to learn from the bellwether energy market of Germany—what mistakes to avoid and what lessons we can learn for a more successful transition in the United States. Mr. Pang and Mr. Sterling will present lessons learned from thought leaders and decision makers from the electric utility and transmission industry, renewable energy industry, government trade and industry associations, and market experts.

“There are a lot of misconceptions about what has happened with the explosion of renewables in Germany, and there are many lessons learned for utilities in the United States. We are excited about sharing these findings at the EEI Strategic Issues Roundtable,” said Mr. Pang.
