This event provides a unique opportunity to hear how utilities are planning for the future and explore the promise vs. the practical realities of deploying distributed energy resources (DERs).
At this event, Cristin Lyons, partner and grid transformation practice leader at ScottMadden, will lead a panel focused on the role of utilities in Reforming the Energy Vision (REV). The New York utilities recently filed their Distributed System Implementation Plans (DSIPs), with the Supplemental DSIP to be filed in November. This session will review the tools, processes, and protocols they are implementing to dynamically manage DERs and their plans to integrate DERs into distribution system planning on an ongoing basis. Panelists will include: Joe Hally of Central Hudson; Doug McMahon of New York Power Authority (NYPA); Navneet Trivedi of Vrinda Inc.; and Candice Tsay of Con Edison.
“New York is creating a model to encourage DER proliferation, and utilities are being asked to make substantive changes to the way they plan and operate the grid,” said Ms. Lyons.
